Benefits & Side Effects of the Acai Berry
Reports abound regarding the great health benefits that can be gained by adding an acai berry supplement to your regular diet. While I do want to go over some of the reasons why the acai berry has gained such a favorable reputation all over the globe, there is more to talk about than just the positives. There are reports of a couple of side effects, which research appears to back up, that I also want to share with you.
Got To Love Those Antioxidants
The benefit of antioxidants can never be underestimated or ignored. The fact is that if you want your body to have healthy cells that remain free of oxidation – antioxidants are your friend. The free radical damage that causes oxidation in cells can do just as much damage as rust will do to your car. The acai berry has more antioxidants than the blueberry, which has long been touted as an antioxidant powerhouse. The additional antioxidants provided will be needed, especially when you consider that replenishment is necessary for those antioxidants lost fighting the free radicals.
Acai Berry: A Better Antioxidant?
Because the body needs a steady supply of antioxidants, it is critical that we get enough in our diets on a regular basis. Several independent studies have shown that the acai berry juice has more absorbable antioxidants than any other food. While more studies need to be conducted, preliminary tests are showing that the acai berry benefits has more to offer than does other so called “super-foods”.
There is no denying the research which has already shown that a body with an antioxidant boost will also be better able to maintain its health and vigor. In addition, the energy boost the acai berry is said to give to its consumer is also an added benefit. Combining the use of an acai berry supplement in your regular diet with eating well and lots of exercise will most certainly lead you to a better figure and also a few pounds lost.
What About Side Effects
When talking about all the positive points about the acai berry (and there are many) we must not forget that all is not perfect with the acai berry. Yes, even the acai berry is said to have a side-effect. Loss of appetite is said to be one of the side effects to be expected when you take the acai berry supplement regularly; but many would say that this is not a side effect that is to be considered negative though. On the other hand, the acai berry is also known to cause an allergic reaction in some who have taken it (but then this can be true of any food). I have researched WebMD and found that this possible allergic reaction is, so far, the worst that has been put out regarding the acai berry’s harmful side-effects.
